Suburban and Traverse named among Top Family Cars of 2011 by kbb.com
Every Chevrolet vehicle is built with you in mind, so we already knew our vehicles are the most family-friendly on the market today. But still… we always enjoy hearing the experts agree with us.

The editors of Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com, the leading provider of new and used car insights, named the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban and Traverse two of the Top 10 Family Cars of 2011. The best of the best were judged by a long list of characteristics including safety, comfort, economy of operation, price, resale value, and, most importantly, family friendliness.

Suburban and Traverse—No strangers to the list
The 2011 Suburban and Traverse both rose to the challenge, being named among the Top Family Cars 2011 by Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com.

The Chevrolet Traverse is no stranger to this list with extensive features like seating for up to eight passengers, abundant cargo space, and impressive fuel economy2. Top it all off with design and performance that will satisfy your inner driver, and you’ve got yourself a crossover that doesn’t compromise.

Also making a repeat appearance on the list is the Chevrolet Suburban, the perfect vehicle for those who need to haul more than the average family. With the ability to tow up to 9,600 pounds3 and an impressive 45.8 feet of cargo space4behind the third row, this year’s family vacation can be wherever you decide to take it. Whether it’s around the corner or across the country, your options are endless with its fuel economy5 and extensive safety features.

Families come in all shapes and sizes
That’s why both the Traverse and Suburban come with a wide variety of features and accessories available for your choosing. With this kind of flexibility, the Chevrolet Traverse and Suburban are more than the best family vehicles, they’re the best vehicles for your family.

Making Strides in October

Pine Belt Chevrolet Joins Chevrolet Dealers Nationwide to Fight Breast Cancer!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Chevrolet Dealers nationwide are celebrating the brand’s 100th birthday by joining with the American Cancer Society to help create a world with Less Cancer, a world with More Birthdays.

Pine Belt Chevrolet of Eatontown is proud to join Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Pine Belt employees have joined the team and will participate in the Making Strides walk in Point Pleasant Beach on October 16th and will be asking their friends and family to help support this effort by making online donations to the American Cancer Society –  Donate Today

Breast Cancer is expected to take the lives of nearly 40,000 women in 2011 and nearly a quarter of a million new cases are estimated to be found.  Even men can get breast cancer. While far less common than for women, more than 2000 men are diagnosed each year with breast cancer. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer helps support the American Cancer Society and its efforts to find better treatments, earlier diagnoses, and programs to support Breast Cancer survivors and their families.

Chevrolet is joining the Society to help support Making Strides and the American Cancer Society. As part of its 100th Birthday Celebration Chevrolet will be offering special programs and discounts, including service rebates, which we will encourage customers to donate the American Cancer Society.

No one is untouched by cancer and Breast Cancer in particular. We all know someone who has lost a loved one to Breast Cancer. Early diagnosis and early treatment can help survival rates. Scientists and doctors continue to find new ways to fight these diseases and more and more women are surviving, but so much work remains.  We at Pine Belt wholeheartedly support the American Cancer Society and ask you to help too! Support the American Cancer Society and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. For 100 years Chevrolet has been part of life’s journeys – even the detours.  With your help we can all find a smoother road for those people who have heard the words “You Have Breast Cancer”.

The program is very simple to use. All of your websites will have a link to access the purchase program. All your members or their families have to do is click on the link and they will be contacted to discuss what kind of car they need and which one of our 4 locations will best accommodate their needs. Upon entering the dealerships they will be treated like the VIP that they are and streamlined through the process. It’s that simple!!!

If that were not enough to entice your members to utilize the program, there is of course a benefit to the children of the jersey shore, after all they are the reason we all do this. For every purchase made thru the program, Pine belt Automotive will donate $100 dollars to the New Jersey AYF general scholarship fund. We have 30 franchises and over 10,000 kids. That means that we have 20,000 parents, and 40,000 grandparents, not to mention aunts, uncles, or friends, that all drive cars, and are all eligible for this exclusive program. This is one of those rare instances where we can help ourselves while benefitting our children. There is no limit to this program; if we sell 100 cars we will donate $10,000. If we sell 200 cars we will donate $20,000. You get the idea, so let’s make this program a success. Please get the word out to yourmembership via email, facebook, twitter, etc.

2011 IIHS Top Safety Picks

Chevrolet models make the grade

Every Chevrolet is built to be safe. We’d like to say we do it to win awards, but the truth is, we just think about safety – a lot. Some would even call us safety fanatics. Thankfully, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, that isn’t a bad thing.

In a recent evaluation by the IIHS, the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox and Traverse received the highest possible rating of “good” in a rollover test assessing vehicle roof strength. Just one rigorous test among four, these high marks carried over and, in the end, resulted in the Institute’s Top Safety Pick award for every 2011 Equinox model and 2011 Traverse models built after January 2011.

The 2011 Traverse is a great example of Chevrolet’s commitment to safety – before, during and after a crash.

To help drivers avoid accidents, Chevrolet added safety features like StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, and antilock brakes.

Rollover sensing, six standard air bags, front-seat safety belt pretensioners and load limiters help protect occupants during an accident. And afterwards, OnStar’s Automatic Crash Response, which is standard for six months alerts first responders, allowing medical assistance to arrive as quickly as possible.

The IIHS Top Safety Pick award reinforces what Chevrolet already knew about Traverse and Equinox.
